Are you stuck in a rut? Did you start of the New Year with great intentions that have lapsed? We’ve all been there but you can get back on track with our health and wellness tips.
1. Make your bedroom a tech-free room
We struggle with this one, but it makes such a difference if you can leave your phone and pads away from your bedroom. Make sure you have an absolute minimum of 30 minutes screen free time before you try and get to sleep.
2. Keep drinking
Keep your water intake up, particularly when the weather is hot. Try and drink 2-3 litres of water a day. Keeping hydrated will help boost your energy and will keep your body’s cells functioning at their best. Another plus side is that drinking water does help you avoid other drinks that aren’t as good for you.
3 Get back into exercise
If you have lapsed on your New Year’s resolutions and are not taking the exercise you intended to way back in January, start again slowly and if you need help, talk to one of our exercise or lifestyle coaches to give you that extra push and motivation.
4 Take a risk!
Loneliness and feeling disconnected is so common today, so instead of using time to internet surf, get out and about and find new people. You could try something completely new, take a risk or play it safe. Whatever you choose, it is really important to talk to real people, each and every day. If you fancy a change of career or learning a new language, you still have time to reach your goals before the end of the year.
5 Don’t be too nice
Are you one of those people who cannot say ‘No’? If you are, then stop now – right now! If you find it hard to say no to people at work or at home, you will put yourself on the path to ‘burnout’. Learn to prioritise and learn to put yourself first just now and again. We all need five minutes on our own now and again!
